The adventures of location scouting.

I've always believed that good prep work is crucial to a successful photoshoot, you have to know what you're doing before you're doing it, you need to have a vision, a goal which you want to accomplish - this is why I spend hours upon hours just walking around, looking for cool places to take that next big photo at. On Friday I went to a really creepy train station.. no seriously, it was kinda scary actually but it's such a wonderful feeling to go and explore something new. When I got to the station I immediately fell in love with it, the possibilities of what you can do with something like that are tremendous, it is such an interesting place, it doesn't even feel right that a place like this exists in Brussels just 10 minutes of walking from the Royal Palace. It really had this Soviet vibe to it, the white tiles and the grey corridors. The fact that there was virtually no-one there was also a very strange thing to come across in Brussels, this is a city that is always full of people, it's always busy, always flooded with cars, trams, buses, trains etc -  to find a place that is just sitting there in the heart of the city is really very rare. As a photographer places like these are goldmines, I already have two amazing shoots planned there, one of them I'll be doing already on Tuesday and the other one, which I've been dying to already do for months will hopefully happen in a week or two. At first we were actually supposed to have that shoot in the metro station, Maalbeek, but we had to delay it a little and boy am I glad we did. There is always something good that comes out of delays and situations which aren't ideal in the current moment - if we had done the shoot 3 weeks ago, it wouldn't have been as good as it will be now. I posted some photos below for you to have a look at the place, what do you think? Do you come across places like this often?
